Rackable Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: RACK), a provider of servers and storage products for large scale data center deployments, today announced the adoption of the newest Dual-Core AMD Opteron™ processors, Models 885 and 285. Available across Rackable Systems' line of thermally efficient rack-mount and hybrid blade server designs, the newest evolution in AMD64 dual-core processor technology will offer even higher performance based on the existing 95-watt power infrastructure. The Dual-Core AMD Opteron Model 185 processors will be integrated into Rackable Systems' server designs next month when they are released.
