New Appro XtremeServers Offer Best Performanc-Per-Watt, DDR2 memory and AMD Virtualization™ Support

, a leading provider of high-performance enterprise computing systems plans to unveil its new XtremeServers based on Next-Generation AMD Opteron processors at LinuxWorld Show, booth number 1028, San Francisco Moscone Convention Center. The servers will be available beginning late August 2006.
The new APPRO 1U XtremeServer is designed with enterprise high perfomance computing (HPC) in mind featuring two Next-Generation AMD Opteron processors with up to 64GB of DDR2 memory; up to 1.0TB SATA or 292GB SAS hot-swappable drives with one PCI-X, and one PCI Express x16 slots available. The APPRO 1U XtremeServer is a perfect foundation for supercomputing clusters for customers who require a flexible density-optimized 1U server.
The new APPRO 3U XtremeServer offers outstanding performance, impressive memory scalability and end-user flexibility. It features up to four Next-Generation AMD Opteron processors, 128GB of DDR2 memory, 3.0TB SATA or 876GB SAS hot-swappable drives, two PCI Express x16 and three PCI-X slots, redundant power supplies and fans. The APPRO 3U XtremeServer offers more flexibility, delivering best-in-class supercomputing performance and memory bandwidth. This server is ideal for compute-intensive applications such as engineering graphic simulation and rendering, computational fluid dynamics, scientific visualization, and digital content creation.
