System Builders Vote AMD ‘Channel Champion’ in CRN’s Microprocessor Category

SUNNYVALE, CA -- 3/27/2002 -- AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced its second consecutive victory in the CRN Channel Champions microprocessor competition. AMD earned an overall satisfaction rating of 84, nearly eight points higher than its main rival.

The Channel Champion award program, now in its 11th year, is sponsored by CMP Media’s CRN, the newsweekly for builders of technology. It was designed to measure overall solution provider perceptions of vendor products and services. Approximately 7,500 computer system builders from throughout North America vote to determine the winner in 20 key categories.

“We highly value the relationship we share with the system builder community, and appreciate their acknowledgment of AMD as their number one microprocessor partner,” said Robert Fuller, director of North America Field Marketing for AMD.

“Along with our high-performance, award-winning AMD Athlon™ family of microprocessors, AMD has offered consistent, customized support to system builders through the years,” Fuller said. “Our determination to help make our partners successful has contributed to AMD’s market share growth in the commercial desktop segment.”

“On behalf of all of us at CRN, I want to extend congratulations to AMD on being honored as a Channel Champion,” said Charles Humphrey, CRN publishing director. “The Channel Champions survey is a testimony to what is important to solution providers as they evaluate vendors to select the products and services they will recommend to their customers. We applaud AMD’s success.”
