Asia Vital Components, Co., Ltd. Announces Cooler Support For Upcoming AMD Opteron™ And Eighth-Generation AMD Athlon™ Processors

AVC (Asia Vital Components, Co., LTD.) today announces
“Winglets” cooler to support the industry’s first x86-64 processors, the upcoming
AMD Opteron™ and AMD
Athlon™ processors.
Winglets acquires its name from the specially shaped fan blade design which looks like the wing tips of an aircraft. Not only appealing in its looks, but also the performance.
Winglets’ unique impeller design delivers up to 20% more airflow than traditional fans. It is also equipped with patented hydraulic bearing for longer fan life and lower operating noise to meet customer stringent design requirements. With its high aspect ratio in its aluminum extrusion design and thick base in the center,
Winglets can provide more effective heat spreading working in conjunction with non-uniform tapered fin, thicker in the lower portion for good conduction while thinner in the upper portion to reduce flow resistance without compromising total cooler weight. Also, the optimized gap designed between fan and heatsink will further reduce the noise.
