AMD Appoints Marty Seyer Vice President of Server Business, Ed Ellett Vice President of Client Business
New Organizational Structure Strengthens Customer Focus
SUNNYVALE, CA --
AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced the appointment of Marty Seyer as vice president of Server Business. Seyer will be responsible for AMD’s server business, including marketing, strategy, business planning, product planning and associated operations. He will report to Dirk Meyer, senior vice president of AMD’s Computation Products Group (CPG).
Ed Ellett, previously AMD’s vice president of marketing for CPG, will serve as vice president of Client Business, responsible for marketing and defining product development and operations for AMD’s mobile, desktop and workstation products. He will continue to report to Dirk Meyer.

Before joining AMD, Seyer was president and CEO of Penguin Computing, Inc., a leading vendor of AMD processor-based Linux servers. Previously, Seyer spent six years at NCR Corporation, where he served as vice president and general manager of High Availability Servers after holding positions of increasing responsibility. Prior to joining NCR, Seyer held senior product marketing and management positions with Dell Computer Corporation. At Dell, Seyer led Dell’s entry into the server market with the launch of the PowerEdge brand of servers. He has also served in a variety of management and marketing roles at Tandem Computers, Inc. and AT&T.
Seyer is a Certified Teradata Engineer and frequent panelist and speaker at industry events. He is the author of seven books on subjects including computers, operating systems, computer interfacing and networking, and holds two patents. Seyer earned a bachelor’s degree in administrative management and an associate’s degree in computer science from Southeast Missouri State University and has completed graduate coursework in programming and marketing at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School and Dartmouth College.
Since 2001, Ellett has been vice president of marketing for AMD’s Computation Products Group. Prior to joining AMD, Ellett held various senior management positions in Compaq Computer Corporation’s Commercial PC and Workstation Business Unit and Commercial Unit, responsible for leading Compaq’s North America Commercial PC and Workstation product business strategy. He also served in product management, product development and marketing positions at Dell, Cyrix Corporation and Digital Equipment Corporation as well as programming and hardware development for IBM’s Advanced Engineering Systems Division.
Ellett holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
