AMD Hosts Fortune 1000 Technology Summit

AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced it is hosting a CIO/COO Summit to assist Fortune 1000 companies to plan for the ever-shifting requirements of the information technology environment.

The summit will offer attendees an opportunity to network with their peers and provide insight into AMD's capabilities for the commercial sector. AMD's product portfolio addresses the spectrum of enterprise computing requirements. These products include the recently introduced AMD Athlon™ MP processor with Smart MP technology for multiprocessing workstations and servers, and the new mobile AMD Athlon 4 and mobile AMD Duronä processors with AMD PowerNow!™ technology that extend notebook battery life by up to 30 percent. AMD's innovations such as Smart MP and AMD PowerNow! technology will continue to enhance computing for the enterprise market by providing system stability, platform longevity and long-term investment protection.
The summit is being held today at AMD's campus in Austin, Texas. Executives from leading technology companies will discuss topics such as the future of business computing and maximizing the business value of IT investments. Summit keynote speakers include representatives from Adexa, AMD, Cisco Systems, Compaq Computer Corporation, Gartner Group, Microsoft, Palm and SAP. AMD featured speakers include AMD President and COO Hector Ruiz, Vice President of Sales and Marketing David Somo, Vice President of Information Technology and CIO Frederick Mapp, and Knox.
