AMD Wins Microprocessor Category in CRN Channel Champion Competition

System builders name AMD tops in vendor responsiveness, product availability among other categories

SUNNYVALE, CA -- 7/23/2001 -- --AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced it has won top honors in the CRN Channel Champions microprocessor competition. Computer system builders from throughout North America chose AMD over the competition in the microprocessor category.

AMD scored an 82.02 overall satisfaction rating to win the competition, and took top honors in vendor responsiveness and product availability.

The annual Channel Champions event is sponsored by CRN, a leading weekly trade publication for builders of technology solutions. This year, more than 4,000 solution providers rated 67 vendors in 21 high-tech categories. AMD was one of two entrants in the microprocessor category.
