MaxVision Now Supporting AMD's Multiprocessing Architecture in its new Family of MaxPro CAD / DCC Workstations

-- MaxVision MaxPro®6200 Deskside Workstation is today's high performance leader utilizing the new dual AMD Athlon™ MP processor with Smart MP technology for the CAD and Digital Content Creation (DCC) power user. --

Huntsville, AL -- 6/5/2001 -- MaxVision Corporation today announced plans to rollout its new dual AMD Athlon™ MP processor-based Deskside Workstation with the AMD-760™ MP multiprocessing chipset. The new MaxPro®6200 Workstation is slated to deliver un-compromised performance for the demanding CAD, DCC Animation and DV Post Editing Professional in the office or in the studio" said Bruce Imsand (MaxVision CEO).

Like its incredibly successful AMD Athlon processor-based MaxPac®6000 Transportable brother, the MaxPro6200 Deskside Workstation is designed to transcend the "all-in-one" needs for serious Design, 3D Modeling, Animation, Digital Video Editing and Rendering, all, on a single platform. AMD's 3-pipe superscalar floating point engine with its new 3DNow!™ professional function set will be a major benefit to those compute intensive DCC organizations that have to render large animation files and then encode those files for web streaming.

"AMD's advanced Dual processor features, plus its high performance Full-Speed Cache and DDR memory systems, give the MaxPro6200 CAD / DCC professional a unique, high performance, single platform solution to support full production & rendering applications of 3D Studio Max, Maya, Softimage, Lightwave, Adobe and more" said Paul Imsand (MaxVision's Engineering VP). "Before we designed the MaxPro6200, professional DCC power users had to rely on expensive graphics workstations and render servers, with little or no compatibility or upgradability, to get their work done," added Imsand. "Our goal with AMD from the start, for both MaxPac and the MaxPro6200, was to equal or exceed those best-in-class DCC workstations and render servers in every aspect and yet provide the user with the most symmetric line of compatible, upgradable and affordable AMD Athlon MP processor-based workstations in the industry."

Coming soon, with professional configurations starting as low as $3950, the MaxPro6200 delivers real-world design / animate / render / web encoding power with its new family of dual AMD Athlon MP based processors at a price / performance point that will excite the value minded CAD / DCC production department.
