Max Black unveils Athlon™ MP Dual Processor-based Workstations

Munich, Germany -- 6/5/2001 -- Max Black Limited today introduced their next-generation Storm K7MP Dual Athlon™ MP processor-based workstations designed to deliver unparalleled system performance to creative and technical professionals running either Windows® 2000 or Linux® operating systems.

The Storm K7MP workstations are specifically optimised for leading 3D Animation and Content Creation software such as Maya, 3DS Max, Combustion, Photoshop, Shake and Houdini.

Architecture
The Storm K7MP developed in conjunction with AMD is one of the world's first workstations based on the AMD -760™ MP chipset and the Athlon™ MP processor. The Storm K7MP's architecture delivers outstanding Multi processing performance with Dual Point to Point Buses at 266 MHz delivering up to 4.2 GB/s of bus bandwidth, whilst using cost effective DDR SDRAM Memory. Smart MP and the specifically tuned 3DNow! Professional technology also improves performance in computation-intensive applications such as content creation and media streaming. This core architecture combined with the latest ATI Fire GL 4 and 3D Labs, Wildcat™ 5110 DDR SGRAM and Ultra 160 SCSI storage the Storm K7MP provides a highly optimised 3D platform.
