AMD Wins Gartner's Midsize Enterprise Summit

--Corporate IT Professionals Select AMD at back-to-back Gartner events--

SUNNYVALE, CA -- 2/28/2001 -- For the second time in two months, IT professionals have chosen AMD for the "Best of Show" award at Gartner's Midsize Enterprise Summit (MES). The award, given in recognition for creative design and delivery of the company's enterprise message, with emphasis placed on the clarity, depth and cohesiveness of the company's presentation throughout the event, was handed to AMD this past weekend at the MES event in Tampa, Florida. Last month, AMD won the same award at the MES event in San Francisco, California. Thus far, more than 400 medium-sized companies have attended MES, which features some of the top technology vendors that cater to enterprises.

"This win is a powerful statement from IT corporate professionals who want an AMD solution for their business environment," said Lee Little, AMD's Director of Field Marketing for the Americas. "As a technology leader bringing innovative products into the market, AMD understands the needs of businesses today, offering compatibility and stability for enterprise computing. AMD is well-positioned to deliver commercial systems and meet the needs and expectations of the corporate community."

AMD partnered with micronpc.com during both MES events to highlight AMD processor-based business solutions to the corporate community. The micronpc.com - AMD partnership has already produced the award-winning Millennia MAX XP computer, which won PC Magazine's Consumer Desktop of the Year. Micronpc.com announced in December that it plans to carry AMD processor-based business systems in its upcoming ClientPro PC product line.

"Business customers can enjoy the same level of choice, value and award-winning performance as our consumer customers," said Ross Ely, V.P. of Marketing, micronpc.com. "The ClientPro line of PCs is specifically designed for small and medium business and government users. Micronpc.com's use of AMD processors in its commercial segment provides business customers access to excellent technology with the stability, reliability and manageability they have come to expect in the ClientPro product line." Micronpc.com's AMD processor-based ClientPro line of PCs is expected to make its debut later this year.
