RackSaver Incorporates New AMD Opteron™ Processor into their line of Servers, Blade Servers and Supercomputing Clusters

RackSaver’s BladeRack XT Accommodates 88 of AMD’s Breakthrough Processors

SAN DIEGO, CA -- 4/22/2003 -- RackSaver, a leading provider of high-density individual rack-optimized servers, blade servers and supercomputer clusters today announced support for AMD Opteron™ processors that will power the next generation of enterprise-class servers and workstations.

RackSaver products supporting the AMD Opteron processor include its BladeRack XT, QuatreX-64™, and the RS-1164/op. The BladeRack XT consists of 44 dual processor compute nodes (88 AMD Opteron processors) 32GB of memory per node (nearly 1.5TB per rack), as much as 11TB of storage, and the company’s innovative, patent-pending Vertical Cooling System. RackSaver’s RS-1164/op is a 1U, 2P server and the QuatreX-64™ is a 4U, 4P server. RackSaver is already experiencing an extremely high interest in all of their AMD Opteron processor-based servers.

The AMD Opteron processor is designed to simplify customers’ business processes by minimizing integration complexity and providing simultaneous 32- and 64-bit high-performance computing. Other features include advanced HyperTransport™ technology as well as an integrated DDR memory controller.
