Accelertech Announces Comprehensive Worldwide Channel White Box Program For 64-Bit AMD Opteron™ Processor-Based Systems

Unique Program Enables System Builders, System Integrators, OEMs and VARs to Offer AMD Opteron Processor-based Servers and Workstations Globally Through “Plug and Play” Web-Based Ordering, Marketing and Distribution System

New York, NY -- 4/22/2003 -- Concurrent with today’s AMD Opteron™ processor launch, Accelertech debuts its Channel White Box Program for the AMD Opteron processor, offering a comprehensive program for the Channel to offer white box server and workstation platforms for the revolutionary new 64-bit AMD Opteron processor. Accelertech’s Channel White Box Program enables System Builders, System Integrators, Solutions Providers, VARs and OEMs to instantly and cost-effectively offer servers and workstations to their customers using a unique set of Web-based sales, marketing and distribution tools.

All Accelertech White Box platforms are available immediately and begin shipping today through a worldwide network of distributors, including Avnet (NYSE: AVT), Bell Microproducts (NasdaqNM: BELM), Ingram Micro (NYSE:IM), D&H Distributing, CHI and Xander.

Accelertech is offering a comprehensive lineup of server and workstation platforms, designed for various high-growth market segments. For servers, there are five models of 1U, 2U and 5U rackmount servers, including the OA100 1U entry-level application server platform, designed for web and front-end applications; the OD102 1U Carrier-grade server platform, featuring the first 1+1 redundant power system in a 1U server designed for high-availability applications such as telecom; the OB104 1U Enterprise-level server platform, featuring four hot-swap drives designed for Enterprise applications requiring RAID 5 data redundancy; the OE212 2U Storage and File Server, featuring an unprecedented 12 drives and internal storage up to 3.6 Terabytes in one Server, which is perfect for file server and high-capacity storage applications; and the OA500 5U Pedestal/Rackmount flexible server platform, featuring the ability to stand upright as a tower or be mounted into a rack.

For Workstations, Accelertech is offering two platforms: the OAP00, a Pedestal Workstation platform, and the OBP00, an NVIDIA technology-based AMD Opteron processor workstation platform. All Accelertech servers and workstations are fully tested and validated to the highest standards to provide stable and reliable platforms. Testing includes hardware and software compatibility and interoperability, EMI/RFI, shock and vibration testing and thermal validation. They are also pre-certified for FCC, UL and CE to ensure proper regulatory acceptance worldwide. “Accelertech wants to empower Channel partners to deliver compelling server and workstation platforms based on the new 64-bit AMD Opteron processor. The key to Accelertech’s Channel White Box Program is its complement of tools designed to help Channel Partners quickly and effectively offer these platforms with little effort or resource requirements. These channel management tools include WebFill, a powerful marketing tool designed to lower the barrier to entry for System Builders by offering a fully automated virtual storefront. With WebFill, Accelertech’s virtual Web fulfillment system, Channel Partners that wish to incorporate Accelertech-based White Box Platforms into their product offerings can come to the Accelertech website, go through a WebFill Partner Setup Wizard, answer some questions about their business and select products, service options, delivery options, etc. In less than 20 minutes, they will be up and running with a complete, functioning website with their name and logo that includes a full-line configurator, dynamic PDF datasheets, CRM tools to help them manage customers, marketing and training tools. The system also includes back-end features such as export tools to feed information back to the Channel Partner’s accounting system, order tracking, and a complete knowledge base and driver/BIOS/manual database, with links to Accelertech’s entire supply chain. With WebFill, selling servers and workstations has never been easier for the Channel.

Powering the Accelertech White Box Platforms is the AMD Opteron processor with AMD64 technology, the first 64-bit x86-compatible processor available today. With AMD64 technology, the AMD Opteron processor is backward compatible with 32-bit applications while also delivering 64-bit performance. The AMD Opteron also features HyperTransport™ technology, an efficient, high-speed link between each AMD Opteron processor, allowing for “glueless” multiprocessing. In addition, the memory controller is embedded into the AMD Opteron processor, allowing for much faster memory access.
