Pc-Check® Tests 64-Bit AMD Opteron™ and Upcoming AMD Athlon™ 64 Processors



BOURNEMOUTH, England -- 4/22/2003 -- Eurosoft (UK) Ltd., worldwide developers of computer diagnostic and test products, announced new Pc-Check® 64-bit support to meet the release of the AMD Opteron™ and upcoming AMD Athlon™ 64 processors. Eurosoft’s latest Pc-Check development for AMD processors provides a new approach to full-spectrum hardware analysis and component testing for all makes of computer systems – servers, desktops, notebooks and industrial-based computers.

“Eurosoft’s Pc-Check will provide customers developing with AMD64 processors a wide-ranging selection of component tests including the AMD Opteron and upcoming AMD Athlon 64 processors. Development cycles and manufactured products will be released faster and more reliable from the onset,” said Leslie Richards, Eurosoft’s UK head office managing director.

Pc-Check is a software-based solution with over five-hundred hardware test points that run independent of operating systems or networks. Along with its previous 32-bit hardware testing, new Pc-Check support for the AMD Opteron and upcoming AMD Athlon 64 processors gives manufacturers, integrators and resellers independent processor tests to fully validate AMD processor functionality and product authenticity. Pc-Check’s new extended memory tests for over 4-GB (up to 4-terabytes), and 48-bit (2-terabytes) hard drive addressing, provides greater combined support for hardware and software specifications that use the higher performance available with the upcoming AMD 64-bit processors.

"During internal AMD beta tests, we experienced excellent Pc-Check performance on the AMD 64-bit development systems. Eurosoft has also taken the step to include significant memory test algorithms that can perform on memory up to 4 petabytes – allowing customers to test 64-bit memory configurations well beyond today’s 32-bit 4-GB memory limit,” said Rich Heye, vice president and general manager of AMD’s Microprocessor Business Unit.

Pc-Check is used worldwide to test and report on computer hardware configurations and faults during manufacturing and repair services. Pc-Check is shipping now. List price single package £150 or $250.
