(www.snapstream.com), a leading provider of digital entertainment products, today announced plans to integrate support for the AMD Athlon™ 64 processor into its market-leading Personal Video Station PC Personal Video Recorder (PVR) software.
With SnapStream Personal Video Station, subscription-free PC PVR software, which competes with proprietary hardware products from companies like TiVo, consumers can record weeks and months of their favorite television shows. SnapStream Personal Video Station then acts as a server for the TV recordings, distributing them over the home network to networks devices such as handhelds and televisions.
"Our customers already record entire seasons of their favorite TV shows with our easy-to-setup, easy-to-use interface. With integrated optimization for the AMD Athlon 64 processor, consumers will get even better performance from SnapStream-powered PVRs -- and that means higher quality TV recordings," said Rakesh Agrawal, president and CEO, SnapStream Media. "We are excited to be working with AMD to offer these remarkable benefits to digital media enthusiasts."
"AMD believes in enabling a simple but immersive cinematic computing experience for PC users, and we're glad to have the support of SnapStream, optimizing their award-winning Personal Video Station software for the AMD Athlon 64 processor," said Tim Wright, director, desktop marketing, AMD’s Computation Products Group. “Consumers are eager to take advantage of new and exciting innovations in digital media applications like SnapStream's PVR software and take full advantage of the performance and compatibility of the AMD64 platform."
