SiS755 -- The Latest Masterpiece for the AMD64 Platform
The HyperStreaming™ Engine – The Optimizer for HyperTransport™ technology
San Francisco,CA --
SiS755 Chipset, the latest core logic chipset for the AMD64 platform by Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. (SiS), optimizes HyperTransport™ technology interface with the unique HyperStreaming™ technology. It greatly improves the data processing efficiency and computing power for both Sis’ recently-released AMD Opteron™ processor-based workstation platform and for the new AMD Athlon™ 64 processor-based platform launched today. Coupled with SiS’s newest South Bridge Chipset SiS964, SiS755 enhances the performance of the whole system by granting full compatibility and efficiency of the peripheral devices.
The communication core of a PC system is the core logic chipset, which adds to the innovation resulting from microprocessor technology. Through the collaboration with the core logic chipset, the system is able to showcase the overall system capabilities precisely. The SiS755 Chipset, employed with SiS’s brand new HyperStreaming™ Engine technology, integrates seamlessly with the AMD Athlon 64 processor’s HyperTransport technology as well as the 8/16-bits connection technology to deliver the Front Side Bus (FSB) transmission speed of up to 6.4GB/sec (1,600MT). It not only works closely with the AMD Opteron and AMD Athlon 64 processors to enable the optimal performance of bandwidth, but also achieves low-latency and high-efficiency data transmission. The AGP 8X interface allows the system to adopt the most advanced graphic cards in the market for the optimal graphic transmission. Moreover, the mature MuTIOL®1G technology, also developed by SiS, promises the smoothest data transfer between South and North Bridges.
In addressing most of the users’ concerns on I/O throughput as well as system response time in the network environment, SiS755 brings greater system performance through the tight integration of HyperStreaming™ and HyperTransport technology. Compared with other products of the same class on the market, SiS755 is definitely one of the top-notch chipsets for the AMD64 platform.
Along with the latest South Bridge Chipset SiS964, SiS755 accelerates the entire system. Integrated with Serial ATA high-speed transfer interface, the brand-new South Bridge Chipset SiS964 not only supports Dual-Channel parallel ATA, but also adds two independent Serial ATA150 connection ports, which offer storage devices with data transmission speed up to 150MB/sec. Other special features include 8 built-in USB2.0 ports, which meet the requirement for increasing peripheral device connections, full 5.1 channel surround sound, V.90 modem and Ethernet network. The SiS964 also supports Multiple RAID disk array modes, including RAID0, RAID1, and JBOD, which further enhances the stability and performance of the operating environment.
“The AMD Athlon 64 processor and SiS755 chipset, which is embedded with SiS’ propriety HyperStreamingTM Engine, bring to market the ultimate data processing ability of the AMD Athlon 64 processor and incredible performance of SiS755 and HyperStreamingTM Engine. This also demonstrates SiS’ commitment in developing core logic chipsets for the AMD64 platform.” said Michael Chen, president and CEO of SiS. “After SiS755, SiS plans to keep introducing more high-quality products and provide more competitive portfolios”
“The AMD Athlon 64 processor and SiS755 core logic chipset can increase data throughput for a dramatic improvement in system performance, compatibility with today’s software and the flexibility to tap future 64-bit applications,” said Rich Heye, vice president and general manager, AMD’s Microprocessor Business Unit. “We are working together to exceed the expectations of the most demanding gaming or digital video customers.”
