Shuttle’s AN50R mainboard delivers next-generation performance

AMD Athlon™ 64 processor and NVIDA® nForce™3 feature in the new HyperTransport™ technology-enhanced AN50R mainboard from Shuttle

Taipei, Taiwan -- 9/23/2003 -- Shuttle Inc, a leading provider of small form-factor (SFF) computers and mainboards, is proud to announce the AN50R, an ATX form factor mainboard based on the NVIDIA® nForce™3 150 chipset with support for the new powerhouse AMD Athlon™ 64 processors. With advanced HyperTransport™ technology built-in, Shuttle’s AN50R represents the new industry benchmark for advanced technology integration and performance.

“Shuttle is among the first vendors to bring super-stable, high-performance 32- and 64-bit AMD Athlon 64 processor-based mainboards to market,” said Jonathan Yi, vice president, product planning, Shuttle. “The AN50R integrates the power of NVIDIA® nForce™3 and HyperTransport technology to offer our customers the pinnacle in bandwidth-rich, high-performance computing.”

“Shuttle has put together a performance-driven motherboard powered by the new AMD Athlon 64 processor, which is built on AMD64 technology,” said Rich Heye, vice president and general manager of AMD’s Microprocessor Business Unit. “Now customers can enjoy the extreme power that 64-bit processing offers, while maintaining full compatibility with all of today’s 32-bit software.”

HyperTransport technology — an advanced high-speed, high-performance chip-to-chip interface — offers aggregate bandwidth of up to12.8GHz, representing a 40-fold increase over traditional mainboard architectures.

The most recent addition to Shuttle’s AMD mainboard line, the AN50R also supports 1600 MHz system bus, single channel DDR400 memory and Serial ATA RAID as standard features. Further, with FireWire® 400, USB 2.0 and SPDIF digital audio I/O on-board, users get exceptional out-of-the-box expansion. Further, this 64-bit performance-enhanced ATX form factor mainboard includes on-board Gigabit Ethernet.

The SN85G4 XPC, as well as the company’s entire SFF and mainboard product lines, will be on display and demo’d at Shuttle’s Computex 2003 booth (Hall 2, E126~129) and VIP Suite (by invitation only).

Creating a platform for the future!
