Pc-Check® Tests New AMD Athlon™ 64 Processors
BOURNEMOUTH, England --
9/23/2003 --
Eurosoft (UK) Ltd., worldwide developers of computer diagnostic and test products, announced a new release of Pc-Check® to meet the release of the AMD Athlon™ 64 processor. Eurosoft’s latest Pc-Check version 5.60 includes new testing improvements to its advanced processor tests, with independent tests for the new AMD Athlon 64 processor. Pc-Check full-spectrum hardware analysis and component testing accommodates all types of computer systems – servers, desktops, notebooks and industrial-based computers.
“Pc-Check has been proving its testing value with our customers since the AMD Opteron™ processor release in April 2003. For today’s release of the AMD Athlon 64 processor, we are keeping pace with our customers’ requests, adding new tests such as AMD64 processor extension tests, as well as XML hardware comparison identification. These new Pc-Check tests, along with the many other significant improvements in the 5.60 version, will continue to help reduce development and manufacturing cycles, while improving technical services,” said Leslie Richards, Eurosoft’s head office managing director.
Pc-Check now supports the new AMD Athlon 64 processor, AMD Opteron processor and previous AMD Athlon XP processors. Updated CPU testing includes the AMD64 instruction set tests to examine the features in all modern processors. This gives manufacturers, integrators and resellers the latest industry-standard processor tests to fully validate processor functionality for multi-media applications. Other Pc-Check improvements include XML Hardware Identification allowing component comparisons in XML format during interactive and burn-in testing options. Compliant with desktops and servers, Pc-Check has reduced its memory footprint so it requires less memory to run, speeding up all testing processes.
"In line with Eurosoft’s previous release of Pc-Check for the AMD Opteron processor, we expect this new release of Pc-Check 5.60 to perform equally as well with the new AMD Athlon 64 processor, said Tim Wright, director, desktop marketing, AMD’s Computation Products Group. Eurosoft’s move to update for the AMD64 platform can help customers test and make the most of their AMD Athlon 64 processor-based systems.”
Pc-Check is a software-based solution, with over five-hundred hardware test points, running from one diskette or CDROM, independent of operating systems or networks. Pc-Check is used worldwide to test and report on computer hardware configurations and faults during manufacturing and repair services. Pc-Check is shipping now. List price single package £150 or $250.
