AMD Announces Flash Memory Agreement with Alcatel

SUNNYVALE, CA -- 4/3/2000 -- AMD today announced that it entered into an agreement with Alcatel, a global telecom networking leader, to supply it with approximately $300 million dollars worth of flash memory devices over the next two years. Under the contract, AMD will provide Alcatel with AMD flash memory units that are intended to support a broad range of Alcatel's product offerings including DSL modems, cellular phones, and telecommunications infrastructure.

"With telecommunications standards evolving at a rapid pace, Alcatel has a high degree of confidence that AMD's flash memory devices can support its products now and into the future."
