AMD Says Lawsuit is Without Merit

SUNNYVALE, CA -- 3/11/1999 -- AMD said today that a lawsuit filed in United States District Court for the Northern District of California is without merit and the company will contest it vigorously.

"The lawsuit filed on behalf of a shareholder is totally without merit," said Thomas M. McCoy, senior vice president and general counsel of AMD. "The company will vigorously contest the suit."
