ULi Electronics Inc. today announces that M1689 – one of the industry’s finest single chip solutions supporting the socket 939 series AMD Athlon™ 64 microprocessor and providing support for the industry’s latest HyperTransport™ technology bus speed reaching 2.0 GT/Sec reaches mass production.
The combination of ULi’s M1689 with the AMD Athlon 64 processor employed on Asus motherboards, and several other first tier ODM manufacturers offers a leading edge high-performance, high integration and cost effective computing solution for performance driven enterprise, gamers and PC enthusiasts.
M1689 is one of the first AMD Athlon 64 platform’s truly high energy efficient, highly integrated single chip solutions. Using AMD’s HyperTransport technology bus interface, M1689 FSB can effortlessly reach up to 2GT/Sec. Major features found in M1689 include integrated AGP8X controller, 8 ports of USB2.0/1.1 host controller, 2 Serial ATA Host contollers, and RAID 0,1.
