In equally configured platforms1, the enhanced Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processor ("Shanghai")-based platform offers up to a 50 percent performance to power ratio advantage over the Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processor ("Barcelona")-based platform at the same frequency. For these platforms, the Quad-Core AMD Opteron processor Model 2376 HE-based platform only used 119W at Active Idle compared to the Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processor Model 2356-based platform using 135W at Active Idle. The Quad-Core AMD Opteron processor Model 2376 HE-based platform had a SPECpower_ssj™2008 result of 1044 overall ssj_ops/Watt, (346,326 ssj_ops @ 100% target load). The Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processor Model 2356-based platform had a SPECpower_ssj™2008 result of 697 overall ssj_ops/Watt (301,617 ssj_ops @ 100% target load).
