In equally configured platforms1, the low-power Six-Core AMD Opteron™ HE processor (“Istanbul”)-based platform offers up to a 15 percent overall performance to power ratio advantage over the highest performing 75W ACP Six-Core AMD Opteron™ processor (“Istanbul”)-based platform. For these platforms, the low-power Six-Core AMD Opteron™ processor Model 2425 HE-based platform only used 80.4W at Active Idle compared to the Six-Core AMD Opteron™ processor Model 2435-based platform using 95.4W at Active Idle. The low-power Six-Core AMD Opteron processor Model 2425 HE-based platform had a SPECpower_ssj™2008 result of 1532 overall ssj_ops/Watt (462,215 ssj_ops @ 100% target load). The Six-Core AMD Opteron™ processor Model 2435-based platform had a SPECpower_ssj™2008 result of 1335 overall ssj_ops/Watt (550,755 ssj_ops @ 100% target load).
1These platforms are configured identically using the same base platform model including motherboard, 4 DDR2-800 DIMMs of 4GB each, the same power supply, the same disk drive, and the same NIC.
