With combined innovations in CATIA V6 and the newest AMD FirePro™ workstation graphics, the overhead required to generate a model’s geometry is pushed out to the hardware, allowing mechanical designers to render models at maximum GPU performance levels (Dassault Systèmes built Vertex Buffer Objects (VBO) into the CATIA V6 OpenGL™ engine and AMD followed suit by optimizing its OpenGL driver).
