AMD FirePro™ Software

AMD is committed to delivering new and innovative software solutions specifically designed to enhance performance for AMD FirePro™ Professional Graphics users. AMD regularly issues driver updates to ensure its FirePro™ professional graphics continue to perform even better, through the continued support for the latest technologies and applications. Further, a rigorous certification process featuring a battery of simulations and real-world scenarios ensures the highest level of stability and reliability.

AMD FirePro™ professional graphics are certified on more than 90 applications. Certification by leading publishers assures professionals these applications will perform reliably. AMD’s quality assurance engineers also carry out comprehensive compliance, performance and functionality verification tests, and work closely with application and workstation vendors to refine AMD FirePro™ professional graphics.

AMD FirePro™ Software Features

10-bit Color Video Output technology is supported on AMD FirePro™ professional graphics, ensuring crucial information is never lost in any stage of the rendering and display pipeline, and is displayed in full color fidelity. 10-bit displays are rapidly becoming norm rather than exception in application areas such as medical imaging, professional photography, graphics design, compositing and post production.

10-Bit Color for Adobe® Photoshop® CS5 and Adobe® Photoshop® CS4 gives AMD FirePro™ professional graphics users the ability to render images with 10-bit per component color, helping to provide an exact representation of colors between the application and 10-bit displays.

AMD FirePro™ S400 Synchronization Module allows high and ultra-high AMD FirePro™ professional graphics cards to be used in demanding applications that require synchronization to external sources (Genlock) or synchronization of 3D rendering of multiple GPUs in different systems (Framelock).

Virtualized Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Remote Graphics technologies essentially separate the computing experience from a physical machine using a client–server model – while delivering full computing experiences. AMD FirePro™ professional graphics support leading remote graphics and VDI solutions, including Parallels Workstation Extreme and Microsoft® RemoteFX.

Plug-ins and Tools

Bullet Physics for Maya Plug-In: The new Bullet Physics for Maya plug-in developed by AMD is the first integrated toolset to leverage OpenCL inside of Autodesk Maya 2012. It’s also the first OpenCL implementation for the open-source Bullet Physics library used increasingly to drive visual effects sequences in film, television and games. This toolset, available at no cost to Autodesk Maya 2012 end-users currently under support subscription, dramatically increases the ability for Maya animators to work with complex and accurate physical simulations while maintaining interactivity in the Maya viewport.

AMD Custom Timing Tool: When testing new hardware, such as a display panel, you might find that the default display timings do not suit your needs. The AMD Custom Timing tool enables you to create additional non-standard video timing profiles. Please read the instructions before you download the AMD Custom Timing tool.

Autodesk© AutoCAD© 2010 and 2011 and 3ds Max© 2010 and 2011 performance plug-ins from AMD are designed to optimize application performance on AMD FirePro™ professional graphics. Whether you’re an architect, engineer, graphic designer or visual effects artist, AMD has the powerful tools professionals need to get the job done.

ATI CATIA Optimizer optimizes CATIA design software for best performance on AMD FirePro™ professional graphics.

ATI Memory Viewer monitors graphics memory used by applications.
