AMD Awarded 2010 Everything Channel Partner Program Guide and Five-Star Partner Rating

AMD today announced it has been recognized by Everything Channel as one of North America’s top information technology (IT) vendors for the AMD Fusion Partner Program.  Additionally, the AMD Fusion Partner Program was recognized with a five-star rating representative of an exceptional program.

AMD’s  partner program was awarded a Five-Star recognition in the enterprise category in Everything Channel’s 16th annual 2010 Partner Program Guide (PPG), acknowledging its commitment and strength of its programs for reseller partners, which include IT integrators, technology solution providers and consultants.

The AMD Fusion Partner Program, launched in September 2009, consolidates AMD’s existing partner programs into one program that is globally consistent yet regionally flexible.  The program provides partners with customized incentives and resources that mesh with their specific business objectives to help them accelerate solutions development and sales, especially when selling AMD solutions (AMD CPUs, AMD GPUs and AMD Chipsets).  To achieve meaningful differentiation and a customized program for each partner, all partners under the AMD Fusion Partner Program are placed in one of three tiers - Elite, Premier or Select - and into a business track designed to align programs and offerings with their business model.

Since its launch in September 2009, the AMD Fusion Partner Program has proved to be successful and has garnered positive feedback from partners. In Q4 2009, AMD saw an 80 percent increase in Elite and Premier component partners worldwide selling all-AMD solutions and 100 percent of the company’s worldwide Elite component partners hit their revenue targets.

Research for the 2010 Everything Channel Partner Program Guide and the Five-Star Partner Program rating was conducted by Everything Channel’s research department. Everything Channel analyzed 130 vendor programs rating vendors’ responses to in-depth questions about their partner programs in the five elements of sales support, partner profitability, partner ecosystem development/ management, partner communication/marketing, and demand generation. To ensure fair comparisons, companies were placed in one of four categories based on company size (Enterprise, Midsize, Small and Emerging).  Questions from each section were scored individually and weighted appropriately.  The Five-Star Partner Program rating recognizes the elite subset of Partner Program Guide vendors who give solution providers the best partnering elements in their channel programs. The Five-Star rating is bestowed on programs whose overall rating is among the elite based on company size.
