GPU Accelerated Features
Advanced OpenGL® optimizations, Vertex Buffer Object (VBO) and Order Independent Transparency (OIT) are just some of the features AMD has worked closely with PTC on to optimize and provide great 3D framerates and interactivity for large assemblies. In particular, OIT provides a “pixel-accurate” representation of the model and its surrounding geometry. This creates a more practical transparent 3D viewpoint for designers to continuously work within, helping improve the designers’ sense of “design intuition” and assisting in better decision-making through the product development stages.
OIT fixes visual artifacts caused by inaccurate “depth sorting” of the geometry that often happens in the older “blended mode”. This means some parts of the object are being rendered incorrectly with the old blended mode technology.
