Product Description

The Versal™ adaptive SoC PHY for PCI Express® is a building block IP that allows for a MAC for PCI Express to be built as soft IP in the programmable logic fabric.

Key Features and Benefits

Versal devices with GTYP transceivers support:
- Maximum link width based on available GTYP in the selected device/package
- Gen1 (2.5 GT/s/lane), Gen2 (5.0 GT/s/lane), Gen3 (8.0 GT/s/lane) rates at up to x16 link widths
- Gen4 (16.0 GT/s/lane) rate at up to x8 link widths
- Gen5 (32.0 GT/s/lane) rate at up to x4 link widths
Versal devices with GTY transceivers support:
- Maximum link width based on available GTY in the selected device/package
- Gen1 (2.5 GT/s/lane), Gen2 (5.0 GT/s/lane), Gen3 (8.0 GT/s/lane) rates at up to x16 link widths
- Gen4 (16.0 GT/s/lane) rate at up to x8 link widths
Equalization is included as part of the IP for 3rd party MAC use cases
GT quads reside outside the IP and are connected by block design
GT reset sequence is now absorbed into the GT quads
Supports synchronous and asynchronous applications
Supports P0s at Gen1 or Gen2 rates only
