The AMD LogiCORE™ Video Codec Unit IP for Zynq™ UltraScale+™ MPSoC and Versal™ AI Edge Gen 2 / Prime Gen 2 devices is capable of performing video compression and decompression simultaneously.
The AMD LogiCORE™ IP H.264/H.265 Video Codec Unit (VCU) for the Zynq™ UltraScale+™ MPSoC devices can simultaneously compress and decompress video at resolutions up to 4K at 60 Hz. For resolutions higher than 4K, a lower frame rate is supported. The H.264/H.265 functionality is embedded as a hard IP within the Zynq™ UltraScale+™ MPSoC device families.
The AMD LogiCORE IP H.264/H.265 Video Codec Unit 2 (VCU2) supports H.264/H.265 with additional features to enhance video quality and performance. The Video Codec Unit also includes a JPEG decoder. The encoder and decoder (H.264/H.265) are capable of processing 4Kp60 (both UHD and DCI formats). For higher resolutions a lower frame rate is supported. The H.264/H.265 functionality is embedded as a hard IP within the Versal™ AI Edge Gen 2 and Prime Gen 2 devices.
