AMD Solarflare 8000 Series Downloads and Support

AMD Solarflare™ 8000 series Ethernet adapters provide high port density (up to 8x 10G/2x 40G). They address your data center needs in ultra-scale environments, such as server level security, virtual machine (VM) level network telemetry, and application acceleration.

For more information refer to the AMD Solarflare™ Ethernet adapter documentation. Access additional resources on the AMD Solarflare Support Site.

Accelerate networking performance with AMD Solarflare™ Onload™ software. Designed for cloud, enterprise, and containerized environments, Onload software delivers low-latency, high-throughput networking without requiring application changes.

Onload also provides ef_vi™. This is a low-level ultra-low latency networking API that offers the minimum possible latency in applications developed for XtremeScale adapters. For more information refer to the Onload User Guide and the ef_vi User Guide.

OpenOnload™

EnterpriseOnload™

Onload™ Operator for Kubernetes

  • Open-source version of Onload software
  • Boosts network-intensive workloads (databases, load balancers, web servers)
  • Exceptional small packet performance for trading environments
  • Download Release Packages listed below
  • Commercial, enterprise-grade version of OpenOnload™
  • Hardened and validated through extensive product testing
  • Available to download with an active ESS support contract.
  • Download from EnterpriseOnload download page.

AMD Solarflare™ TCPDirect™ is an ultra-low latency networking stack, designed to deliver exceptional performance for latency-sensitive applications. It provides an API for developing highly accelerated network applications. It employs kernel bypass techniques similar to Onload, but achieves even lower latency.

For more information refer to the TCPDirect User Guide.

AMD Solarflare™ network drivers are available here. AMD recommends that you install and use the latest released version of the network driver.

Note: Linux (and Linux based OS distributions) already include a version of the AMD Solarflare network driver. This is known as the OS ‘in-tree’ driver. The in-tree driver supports normal networking operation, but does not support more advanced or recent features available with the latest drivers.

The AMD Solarflare™ Enhanced PTP Daemon is an implementation of the IEEE 1588‑2008 Precision Time Protocol version 2. It enables high accuracy synchronization of system clocks across a network. It supports multiple time sources such as remote master PTP clocks, 1PPS signals, external NTP servers, and the clock in a supported local network adapter. By default it automatically selects the best performing of these time sources, but this behavior is highly configurable to suit requirements.

For more information refer to the Enhanced PTP User Guide.

The AMD Solarflare™ SolarCapture™ Software Development Kit is a free library for developers who want to implement efficient fast packet processing of network traffic, at high packet rates, in a Linux user mode application. SolarCapture SDK can be used to receive and send packets with the minimum number of CPU cycles for packet capture, network security, Network Function Virtualization, or other packet processing (C, C++, python) applications.

For more information refer to the SolarCapture User Guide.

Currently, there are no plans for further product releases of SolarCapturePro.  Instead, we have recently open-sourced the SolarCapture code. This is not a formally tested version, but has been updated to use Python 3.
