FPGA Development Flows
Traditional FPGA design flows are supported on AMD Alveo accelerator cards using the AMD Vivado™ Design Suite. Developers can easily get started with a pre-validated base design that maps directly to Alveo hardware and access pre-optimized building blocks in the Vivado IP catalog.
Vivado Licensing Update for Alveo™ Accelerator Customers
Starting with the Vivado Design Suite 2026.1 release, AMD is introducing a new licensing model with more options and pricing tiers to better match different design needs.
Nothing changes for your existing workflow.
- No disruption: Continue using your current Alveo designs, tools, and flows as you do today.
- Free Alveo license: You will receive a dedicated annual license at no cost when targeting Alveo accelerators.
- Same full-featured experience: You still get the complete Vivado feature set when targeting Alveo accelerators.
- To obtain the Vivado Alveo Edition license to target your Alveo accelerator, please visit the Product Licensing page and submit your business email address and company information for verification.
Note: If you already have a valid Vivado Enterprise or Gold license, it will also provide access to Alveo devices in Vivado 2026.1 release.
