AMD Data Intelligence Platform: Open Modular Blueprint
Jul 21, 2026
Introduction
Most enterprises are drowning in data but starving for context. AMD enterprise Data Intelligence Platform — internally called Optima — is a system for turning diverse enterprise data into contextual knowledge graphs that power agent-driven automation and insight across IT, security, and the business. It was built first for IT needs (Optima 1.0) and is now expanded into a shared enterprise platform (Optima 2.0).
The most important thing to know up front: Optima is a reference architecture, not a fixed vendor stack. Everything is open, modular, and replaceable. This isn’t a product pitch — it’s a demonstration of what worked for AMD, and a blueprint you can assemble yourself with the components you already run.
Three principles
- Open and replaceable. Nothing is sticky or mandatory. Plug in the storage, engines, or models you already own.
- Context before AI. AI effectiveness comes from connected, contextual data — not isolated events.
- Agent-first. Humans provide governance and oversight; agents execute the workflows
