Q: When is the best time to apply for an internship/co-op?
Our application and recruitment processes are customized to each country in which we hire students. We encourage you to browse and apply to our open intern/co-op jobs that interest you, best match your background/qualifications and align with your career goals. If your application qualifies to be a good match, an AMD recruiter will contact you for the next steps in the recruitment process.

Q: What are the minimum eligibility requirements for an internship at AMD?
Please browse our Regional Student Programs page to learn more about country-specific requirements.

Q: I am interested in more than one job at AMD. Should I apply for each separately?
Yes. If multiple roles closely align with your skills and career goals, you may apply to more than one position. However, to give your application the strongest chance, we recommend focusing on positions that best fit your experience and interests. Recruiters review each application for every role and will contact you if your skills are a strong match.

Q: What if I’m not ready to apply yet?
No worries. However, you may want to consider joining our University Talent Community to get the process started by uploading your resume. Then, you can apply whenever you are ready. Make sure to follow the application deadlines listed on our regional page.

Q: How can I tell if outreach about a job at AMD is legitimate?
AMD recruiters will never use personal email addresses, ask for fees, make offers via text, charge for resume reviews, or request personal ID documents during the application process. Learn how to protect yourself from job scams or report suspicious activity here.

Q: I applied for an internship/co-op position. What are the next steps in the process?
If your application is a match, one of our recruiters will contact you for a screening call. If you are selected to move on in the process, the next step is meeting with the hiring team. If they determine you are the most qualified candidate, you will receive an offer to join AMD. Your recruiter will guide you throughout the recruitment process.

Q: How should I prepare for my interview?
The interview is an opportunity for the hiring team to get to know you better, and for you to learn more about our business and culture. We are generally curious to learn about your skills and experience, and we frame our interview questions accordingly. Be prepared to tell us about your achievements and how you could contribute to the success of AMD. Don’t hesitate to ask your recruiter for additional information to prepare.

Q: Can I use AI tools like ChatGPT when applying or interviewing at AMD?
We encourage the responsible use of AI in your job search. Use it to learn about AMD and our industry, refine your materials, or prepare for interviews — but let your authenticity lead. Bring your own ideas, experiences, and story to every conversation. Please don’t use AI to generate or read responses during live interviews, submit AI-written coding or written work as your own, or mask your identity in any way.

Q: Will I get feedback from my recruiter after my interview?
We do not provide specific interview feedback, but will update you on your status as soon as possible. Additionally, you can log in to your candidate profile to check the status of your recruitment process.

Q: Will I be paid for my internship/co-op?
Yes, all our intern/co-op positions are paid opportunities.

Please regularly check your email for onboarding related information and required actions. Feel free to contact your recruiter if you have any questions leading up to your start day at AMD.

Q: Does AMD have a dress code?
AMD does not have a formal dress code policy. While we encourage employees to dress comfortably, dressing appropriately for a professional workplace is key. Business casual is recommended.

Q: What can I expect to experience as an intern/co-op at AMD?

You’ll also be encouraged to network with professionals across different teams, gaining valuable insights into the industry and AMD culture. Our goal is to provide a meaningful experience that helps you develop your career and create lasting connections.

Q: As an intern, do I get to meet or interact with other students?

These interactions are valuable for building professional relationships, expanding your network, and finding answers to common questions during your internship.

Q: Do students get evaluated for the work they do as part of their internship/co-op?
Yes, your manager will evaluate your performance and share that feedback with you. As part of our commitment to interns/co-ops, managers are actively engaged, support your development, and provide opportunities for you to grow and develop.

Q: Will I get an opportunity to return to AMD for a repeat internship/co-op in the future or a full-time permanent position after I graduate?
