More About Nazar
Nazar Zaidi is senior vice president of AI solutions engineering within the AI Group at AMD. He is responsible for the growth and success of the AMD Instinct accelerator product line. The Instinct series accelerators from AMD are designed to power the most demanding AI and HPC workloads.
Prior to his current role, Zaidi was senior vice president of processor and server technology at AMD. For nine years, he was responsible for CPU core strategy, Server SOC architecture, performance and implementation, Infinity Fabric, and CPU software development toolchain. Since joining AMD in January 2016, Zaidi guided the successful on-time delivery of the award-winning multi-generational Zen x86 CPU family and Server SOC processors.
Throughout his more than 30-year career, Zaidi co-founded two companies, Nexsi Systems and Raza Microelectronics, and held leadership roles at Broadcom, Netlogic and RMI, overseeing development of industry-leading multicore products. Prior to these roles, he spent the first nine years of his career at Intel.
Zaidi holds 46 patents in high-performance processor design and has been published numerous times at various conferences. He holds a doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
