Configuring Remote Play

Remote Play provides options to adjust the streaming video bitrate and enable the use of a third-party controller.  Depending on your network and HMD hardware setup, configuring these options may help improve your VR experience.

These options are accessible from the Game & VR Streaming tab within the ReLive section of Radeon™ Settings, as shown in the example below.

The Bitrate option allows setting the video bitrate of the content being streamed over the wireless network to the mobile HMD.  It can be set to one of the following:

  • High (50 Mbps)
  • Medium (30 Mbps)
  • Low (10 Mbps)
  • Set by Headset

The default Bitrate is set to High (50 Mbps), which offers the best video streaming quality.  If performance issues are being experienced with certain content, reduce the bitrate to lower the video streaming quality as it may help resolve the problem.

NOTE!  For best results, the mobile HMD needs to be on a wireless network that supports 802.11ac.

While mobile HMDs already come bundled with their own controllers, Remote Play provides an option to use a third-party controller.  Simply toggle the Use Third-Party Controller tile to enable this option.
