Possible Cause

AMD Software Installer terminated the installation because the detected AMD Graphics hardware belongs to one of these unsupported product groups: 

  • Embedded AMD Radeon™ Graphics
  • Legacy AMD Radeon™ Graphics 
  • Customized AMD Radeon™ Graphics for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) systems 

Solution

For Embedded AMD Radeon™ Graphics 

Please visit AMD Driver and Support and choose Radeon Embedded from the Product Selector, to find and download appropriate drivers. If you do not know the model of your AMD Graphics product and need help, refer to article: How to Identify the Manufacturer and Model of an AMD Graphics Card.

For Legacy AMD Radeon™ Graphics 

If your system has any of the Legacy AMD Radeon Graphics Hardware listed below, please visit AMD Driver and Support and search for the model of your AMD Graphics Product to download the final driver package available for your legacy hardware. For more information, see article: How to Find the Latest Compatible Drivers for AMD Graphics Products.   The AMD Radeon Series Graphics products listed in the table below are based on older architecture and have been moved to a legacy support model which is not compatible with this version of AMD Software Package you are trying to install.

If you have one of the GPUs listed below running on a Windows® 10 based system, graphics driver support is available only from Microsoft using Windows Update. We recommend obtaining the latest driver from the OEM system builder or partner manufacturer. For a list of OEMs and partner manufacturers, see: AMD Partners: Add-in-Board, Original Equipment & System Builder Configurations.

If you are still unable to resolve error 182 after completing the steps outlined above and need further assistance, please contact AMD Customer Care, and attach the AMD Software Installer log file to your service request. The AMD Software Installer log file is located in C:\Program Files\AMD\CIM\Log\Install.log​

IMPORTANT!
 Follow the steps below when raising a service request for this issue:

  1. To raise an e-ticket, visit: Online Service Request
  2. Enter "Error 182" (without quotes) in the Subject field.
  3. Provide as much detail as possible about your issue in the Description field.
  4. Attach the AMD Software Installer log file to the service request and click Submit.
