AMD is pleased to announce preview support for PyTorch on Windows, bringing high-performance machine learning capabilities to a broader range of developers. The PyTorch on Windows Preview works with select AMD Radeon™ graphics products and AMD Ryzen™ processors (listed below)
Highlights
- Support for ComfyUI image-generation workflows.
- Python 3.12 support
- The PyTorch on Windows Preview works with most Diffusion and LLM models, and the following models have been specifically validated by AMD:
- Diffusion models: Flux.1.schnell, SD3, SD3.5 XL Turbo
- LLMs: DeepSeek R1 Distill Qwen 1.5B, Llama 3.2 3B Instruct, Llama 3.2 1B Instruct

The AMD Software: PyTorch on Windows Preview Edition 25.20.01.14 driver installation package can be downloaded from the following link:

NOTE: It is recommended to uninstall any existing AMD graphics driver prior to installing the preview driver. If issues persist, use the AMD Cleanup Utility.
NOTE: Although this driver package will install successfully with most recent AMD products, execution of PyTorch workloads on Windows is only supported on compatible devices listed below.

Known Issues
- Intermittent script failure due to out-of-memory error may be observed while running inference workloads with PyTorch on Windows on Ryzen™ AI Max 300 series processors.
- Intermittent application crash or driver timeout may be observed while running inference workloads with PyTorch on Windows while also running other applications (such as games or web browsers).
- Failure to launch may be observed after installation while running ComfyUI with Smart App Control enabled.
