Highlights

  • This is the final driver release that includes support for PRO driver components. Please note that no additional updates or future releases based on PRO components are planned.
  • This is the final driver release that includes support for AMD RDNA1 and RDNA2 architectures
  • Development and support will transition to the open-source Mesa driver stack. Users are encouraged to migrate to Mesa-based drivers for continued updates, improvements and compatibility with current and future Linux distributions

Fixed Issues

  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Wayland server from running on certain multi-GPU (mGPU) configurations on Linux
  • Resolved an issue on SLED 15.7 where the display failed to scale correctly when the window orientation was changed to Portrait Right or Portrait Left

Known Issues

  • Sometimes freezing occurs when using the keyboard to switch to another VT console under Ubuntu 24.04.2 and kernel version 6.11.029 on Navi48 systems. The issue is specific to that kernel version alone. As a workaround, switching to another VT console (for example, going to Ctrl+Alt+F3 and then going back to Ctrl+Alt+F2) recovers the system.
  • Primary display corruption is intermittedly observed in mGPU scenarios involving Navi31 workstation cards under Ubuntu 24.04.2. The issue is observed only in installations with the option --usecase=workstation and not with the option --usecase=graphics.

To use the Vulkan® driver in this stack, Vulkan SDK needs to be installed. The SDK can be downloaded from: https://vulkan.lunarg.com/sdk/home
