DSP Concepts and AMD Enable Next-Generation Automotive Audio
Mar 03, 2026
DSP Concepts and AMD are bringing the Audio Weaver® embedded audio framework to AMD Ryzen™ AI Embedded P100 Series processors—enabling the next generation of immersive in-vehicle audio and digital cockpit experiences.
This collaboration empowers automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers to deploy high-quality, low-latency audio solutions on Ryzen™ AI Embedded P100A series processors, leveraging DSP Concepts' industry-leading Audio Weaver platform. By combining high-performance, AI-capable, x86 and DSP-based compute from AMD with Audio Weaver's proven, production-ready framework, customers can rapidly develop, tune, and deploy advanced audio features—reducing integration complexity and accelerating time to market.
“Audio is becoming a key part of the cockpit’s ‘human interface,’ shaping how drivers perceive safety cues, voice interactions, and even brand identity,” says Steve Ernst, VP & GM, Automotive at DSP Concepts. “The opportunity is to make these experiences consistent and intentional, not incidental. Our work with AMD is aimed at helping customers design audio as a first-class product decision, not a late-stage engineering constraint.”
Unified Audio Compute Architecture
Audio Weaver® seamlessly integrates across the on-board Cadence® HiFi5 DSPs, Cadence® NNE110 neural network engine, and AMD Zen™ CPU cores, creating a unified audio compute fabric that intelligently distributes workloads between dedicated DSP processing, AI acceleration, and general-purpose CPU resources. This tightly coupled architecture delivers:
- Deterministic real-time performance for time-critical audio pipelines
- Efficient workload offload from CPU to DSP and AI accelerator
- Seamless coordination between audio, AI, and IVI (in-vehicle infotainment) applications
- Scalable "audio canvas" architecture across the digital cockpit
Production-Ready Solution
Together, DSP Concepts and AMD deliver a flexible, scalable audio solution that supports premium sound quality, deterministic low latency, and future-ready digital cockpit architectures—enabling differentiated, immersive in-vehicle experiences across both mainstream and premium automotive platforms.
