More About Martin
Martin Ashton is senior vice president of GPU Technologies and engineering hardware IP and architecture development at AMD. In this role, Ashton leads a large global team focused on accelerating the end-to-end development and deployment of advanced graphics architectures and IP for data centers, gaming and mobile systems.
Ashton joined AMD in 2018. Previously, Ashton was vice president of the Core and Visual Computing Group at Intel, responsible for graphics technology roadmap, architecture and IP development. Prior to Intel, Ashton spent 23 years in various leadership roles at Imagination Technologies, where he developed the first tile-based mobile graphics engine. There, he also served as executive vice president of the PowerVR business unit, which became the top global supplier of embedded graphics IP technology.
Ashton earned a Bachelor of Science in computer technology from Teesside University and a Master of Engineering in microelectronics from Durham University. Ashton holds U.S. patents relating to ray tracing, 3D rendering, texturing and video/display multimedia systems.
