Investing in World Labs

A new substrate for creation and simulation

We’re entering a phase of AI where generating tokens and pixels isn’t the hard part. Understanding and navigating space is. The systems that will matter most over the next decade will be able to perceive, generate, and interact with 3D environments, turning static outputs into explorable worlds and action-conditioned simulation. This shift will upgrade generative media into something deeper: a pathway to interactive 3D creation, physical AI, and real-world simulation at scale.

From scenes to systems

World Labs is building toward a clear long-term vision: frontier world models that move beyond seeing to doing. These models reason over space and time, generate navigable environments, and support interaction by humans and agents. That is why spatial intelligence matters. It is the missing pillar that unlocks new workflows and entirely new categories across virtual and physical domains.

In practice, spatial intelligence turns perception into reasoning and imagination into creation. It upgrades world models from generating a scene to generating environments you can enter, edit, and act inside. As that capability matures, it accelerates iteration in creative workflows and storytelling today and creates the foundation for simulation driven learning that can scale into robotics and broader real-world reasoning.

World Labs’ roadmap is already visible in the products and interfaces they ship. Each one translates the ambition of world models into something developers and creators can use, and each one pushes the stack closer to interactive 3D creation and simulation.

We’re doubling down on World Labs

We’re excited to announce that AMD Ventures has invested in World Labs as part of the company’s latest financing.

We first invested in World Labs in the company’s Series B, and from our earliest conversations with Dr. Fei-Fei Li, we were impressed by the team’s exceptional credibility and experience, as well as a clear belief that spatial intelligence would become a foundational layer for the next era of AI. Since then, our relationship has deepened through continued technical and go-to-market collaborations, and that shared ambition was on full display when AMD CEO, Dr. Lisa Su and Fei-Fei joined each other on stage at CES 2026 in January 2026.

“For AI to transform humanity, it must understand the physical world — how objects move, how spaces are structured, and how actions unfold. Spatial intelligence will transform how we create and interact with real and virtual worlds. At World Labs we are building frontier world models that can perceive, generate, reason, and interact with the 3D world. Collaborations with AMD help make this scale possible." – Dr. Fei-Fei Li, CEO, World Labs

We’re excited to continue our partnership with World Labs as they expand compute for spatial intelligence and world models on AMD Instinct™ GPUs, working together on workload optimization and go-to-market support alongside our cloud partners.
