Transforming AMD with AI: Universal Agent, Productivity Suite, and Champion Enablement
Sep 02, 2025

At AMD, the internal adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not just a technological evolution—it’s a strategic transformation. From engineering breakthroughs to enterprise productivity, AMD is leveraging AI to reshape how teams work, innovate, and lead. This blog highlights three key achievements that are driving enterprise-wide AI adoption and transforming the employee experience.
1. Unified Universal Agent for Enhanced User Experience
AMD developed a unified universal agent that streamlines user interactions by intelligently delegating tasks to specialized AI agents. Accessible via Microsoft Teams, this supervisor AI bot acts as a single point of entry to internal assistants across domains such as IT, HR, and Finance. Using agentic architecture and intent routing, the system connects users with the right domain-specific AI agent, simplifying workflows and reducing cognitive load. This intuitive design empowers employees to interact with AI tools without needing deep technical expertise, enhancing productivity and user satisfaction.
2. Consolidated AI Productivity Suite
To address diverse productivity needs, AMD introduced a consolidated AI productivity suite that brings together essential AI-powered tools in one accessible location. The suite includes more than a dozen internal LLMs, enabling users to chat with AI, generate voice and flowcharts from text, and analyze documents and data sheets.
A web interface provides seamless access, eliminating the need to remember or search for individual solutions. Real-time feedback loops and intuitive UX features such as comment displays and thumbs-up/down mechanisms guide continuous improvement. Use-case validation ensures that tools solve real problems—for example, the Procurement AI Orchestration project uses AI to extract and pre-fill data from quotations and order forms, streamlining intake processes.
3. AI Champion Community and Train-the-Trainer Model
AMD established an AI champion community using a train-the-trainer model to accelerate adoption and learning across teams and regions. Champions from different functions act as liaisons and advocates, driving the use of AI within their respective areas. This community-driven approach fosters collaboration, supports effective knowledge distribution, and builds a robust enablement ecosystem. The AI Community provides a space to share use cases, tips, and ideas, while prompt libraries and training sessions are co-developed with stakeholders to ensure relevance and ease of use. Engagement is further supported by newsletters, general AI training, specialized sessions (e.g., prompting in AI, M365 Copilot), and interactive events like hackathons and prompt-a-thons.
Embedding Ethics and Trust in AI
The AMD Responsible AI (RAI) program ensures that internal AI applications are safe, ethical, compliant, and trustworthy. This imperative goes beyond security; it encompasses governance, risk mitigation, and trust. Objectives include:
- Maximizing the benefits of responsibly developed and deployed AI.
- Minimizing risks to people, the company, society, and the environment.
- Building trust through transparency, accountability, and ethical design.
AMD IT’s leadership in internal AI adoption is a model of strategic alignment, cross-functional collaboration, and ethical innovation. By embedding AI into the fabric of its operations, AMD is not only transforming how it works—but also setting the standard for responsible, scalable, and user-centered AI in the enterprise.
