Understanding the Environmental Impacts of AMD Products
We strive to create products that enable environmental solutions and help our customers better understand the climate impact of the products they use. Our product carbon footprint assessments estimate the total GHG emissions from “cradle to gate” product lifecycle stages, including raw materials, manufacturing and transportation.
Our Material ESG Issues
Materiality2 assessments help us prioritize ESG-related issues within our approach and goal setting and they guide our engagement with key stakeholders. They also help us focus our reporting and transparency efforts on the issues that have the largest impact on our business, as well as the environment and society.
CR Management and Governance
At AMD, we are committed to doing the right thing and conducting our business ethically. Our approach to CR management and governance applies to all aspects of our business, spanning product design, supply chain, AMD operations and external engagement. This holistic approach allows us to align key efforts with core values and operationalize strategic programs around priority focus areas. As a result, we are able to set clear objectives, track progress and promote accountability through transparent disclosure.

Footnotes
- While AMD leverages certain third-party standards as part of our disclosures, any language of “alignment,” “based on,” “compliance” or similar should not be taken to mean or guarantee strict adherence to those standards, including any stakeholder’s particular interpretation thereof. Disclosures based on standards may change due to revisions in framework requirements, availability or quality of information, changes in business or applicable government policies or other factors, some of which may be beyond AMD control. Moreover, we note that methodologies and best practices for calculating and reporting on GHG emissions, as well as other ESG metrics, continue to evolve. Our approach to these or other ESG matters may also evolve, and we cannot guarantee that our approach will conform with the preferences or interpretations of any particular stakeholder.
- We include certain disclosures, reports and information on various environmental, social and corporate responsibility-related matters on our website (collectively, our “ESG Materials”). Our ESG Materials may contain information that is significant; however, any significance should not be read as necessarily rising to the level of the definition of materiality used for the purposes of our compliance with various reporting obligations, including the U.S. federal securities laws, even where we use the word “material” or “materiality” in our ESG Materials (including where we use it in connection with our materiality assessment) or in other materials issued in connection with the matters discussed in our ESG Materials. We have used definitions of materiality in the course of creating our ESG Materials and the goals and metrics discussed therein that do not coincide with or rise to the level of the definition of materiality used for the purposes of our compliance with the U.S. federal securities laws. Moreover, given the uncertainties, estimates and assumptions inherent in the matters discussed in our ESG Materials, as well as the timelines involved, materiality is inherently difficult to assess far in advance. In addition, given the inherent uncertainty of the estimates, assumptions and timelines associated with the matters discussed in our ESG Materials, we may not be able to anticipate in advance whether or the degree to which we will or will not be able to meet our plans, targets or goals.
